Mumbai, Feb 11, 2025 – In a developing case that has ignited widespread online debate, Mumbai Police visited the residence of popular YouTuber Ranveer Allahbadia—better known as BeerBiceps—following a complaint over inappropriate remarks made on the YouTube reality show India’s Got Latent. The incident has stirred intense reactions across social media and prompted calls for stricter regulation of online content.

According to police sources, the visit was triggered by a formal complaint lodged against Allahbadia and other personalities associated with the show. The controversy centers on a remark reportedly made during one of the episodes, where Allahbadia asked a contestant, “Would you rather watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life or join in once to stop it forever?” Many viewers found the comment vulgar and offensive, accusing it of promoting obscenity and insensitive humor.1
While the investigation is still in its early stages—with no FIR registered as yet—the Mumbai Police are reportedly collecting statements from all parties involved, including co-judges and the show’s host, comedian Samay Raina.2
In response to the backlash, Allahbadia has issued a public apology via a video posted on social media. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate—it wasn’t even funny. I had a lapse in judgment, and I’m truly sorry for the hurt caused,” he said, adding that he regrets using his platform in such a manner.
The controversy has transcended the realm of internet humor and entered national discourse. Political leaders, including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, have weighed in on the incident. “Everyone has the right to free speech, but our freedom ends when it infringes upon the rights of others,” Fadnavis stated, emphasizing that public figures must be held accountable for their words.
Complaints related to the remark have not only been filed with local law enforcement but have also reached bodies such as the National Commission for Women, prompting demands for stricter guidelines for online content. Social media platforms have since seen hashtags like #Boycott_RanveerAllahbadia and #Unfollow_Ranveer trending as netizens debate the limits of humor versus the need for respect in public discourse.
As authorities continue their probe, additional legal actions against Allahbadia and possibly other participants from India’s Got Latent are anticipated. This incident has once again highlighted the ongoing tension between creative expression on digital platforms and the societal responsibility that comes with widespread influence.
